1/52

A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014.

Rise and shine.

It's probably too late now but Happy New Year everyone! I made a bunch of resolutions for 2014 but I think they are all pretty acheivable. One of them was to learn how to use my camera properly and stop shooting in auto. So I'm playing about with aperture and shutter speed and taking pictures of the best person in the world. I loved seeing other blogger's 52 project posts last year (in particular, Oh You Pretty Things) and I knew as soon as Matilda as born that I wanted to take a million pictures of her to see how she grows over her first year.

My other resolution was to give the blog more love and post at least once a week. I'm having the blog redesigned at the moment, which I'm very excited about and I can't wait to see what the new year will bring for my little corner of the internet. One thing I wish I'd done in 2013 is write more about my pregnancy, I think I was worried noone would be interested so I didn't write as much about how I felt about impending motherhood. Now that Matilda is here, she's all I want to write about. Obviously there is still cake...she helped me bake muffins yesterday so I'll have that recipe coming up this week.

So here's to a year of developing new skills and talents and taking pictures of amazing sights.

  1. What a cutie! I mean that very genuinely. Normally little babies all look pretty similar, but she's adorable.
