This time next week I will be on a plane at heading to New York.
I am stupidly excited.
I’m also terrified. I haven’t been on a plane in 6 years and I’m ashamed to say I have relied too heavily in the past on my Mum packing my case.
She’s just better at it than I am. My Mum has the amazing ability to iron and fold things perfectly flat and therefore get twice as much in a case. My problem is, even if I could pack it like that before going away, I would never be able to get everything in when I packed to come back.
We are spending 6 nights in New York and then driving over to Vermont for a wedding. Our list of places to go is pretty big; my own secret list of places to go is even bigger. I’ve been adding vintage/thrift stores, bakeries and restaurants to the list like a mad woman.
I definitely want to check out Beacon’s Closet and the Housing Works as suggested by Jen at A Little Bird Told Me. And I’ve got Babycakes NYC on the list…I’ve been dreaming of going for a good few years now. Hopefully the day I go is the day Jason Schwartzman is in getting his cake fix (I’ve heard he’s a regular).
Jen also recommended Sarabeth’s – the brunch menu has never made me want porridge more!
If anyone has any suggestions it would be great to hear from you?
